the genius that is georgina chapman.
i couldn’t get enough of Georgina Chapman’s fascinating dresses, so, as a spin-off of my previous post, here they are!
from Marchesa Spring 2010 RTW

This is so dramatic! I love how the florals and fringes are combined in one look. The colors are perfect too, plus the tights make it seem that the flowers are tattoed on the legs.

Paper cut-outs! Something I used to do in art class. I never imagined it could look this fab on a dress. It looks like it’s made of real paper.

This kimono is so cute! If I only knew how to sew, (and right now, i’m dying to) I would have made something like this for my sister’s Japanese UN costume.

Ruffles that defy gravity. It looks so soft yet so structured. It looks as light as if wisps of smoke are delicately draped on the body, but i betcha that one’s heavy.
from the fall 2009 collection.

That top is impeccably draped! oh love!

The fabric reminds me of the soft tissue-like paper in which bouquets are usually wrapped with. The intricate origami is just so amazing. How does it get to stick out like that? Once again, this is a dress that defies the laws of physics.
i am soo gonna rob a bank right now. who’s with me?
TTFN!
